codeassertion/oracledb-arm64-standalone repository overview

This is a build of Oracle Database 19c Standalone for Linux ARM64.

The installation binaries used to create this build is from the official Oracle download at https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/oracle19c-linux-arm64-downloads.html.

The image was built using the official Oracle Docker Images scripts at https://github.com/oracle/docker-images.
Full instructions and available parameters for running a container using this image can be viewed by reading the README contained within the Oracle Docker Images repo.

This build was initially created in order to run an Oracle instance on a Mac with M1 Silicon.
It has been tested on a MacBook Pro 16 inch 2021 M1 Max 64GB memory running MacOS Ventura 13.4.

Quickstart

Create a volume to make the container persistent:

docker volume create oracle_data

Run a container using this volume and the image:

docker run --name oracle -d -p 1521:1521 -p 5500:5500 -p 2484:2484 -e ORACLE_PWD=password -v oracle_data:/opt/oracle/oradata codeassertion/oracledb-arm64-standalone:19.3.0-enterprise

You can now connect to the instance using the following details (assuming the above command was used to run the container on your local machine):

Username: sys
Password: password
Role: SYSDBA
Hostname: localhost
Port: 1521
SID: ORCLCDB

This build and example is not intended for use on Production systems!
