⁠Kubewatch

A standalone, Kubernetes watcher that currently publishes a notification to available collaboration hubs/notification channels.

⁠Features of 0.0.5-alpha:

  • Supports Critical Alerts by default (NodeNotReady, NodeRebooted,NodeReady)
  • Alerts on Pod CrashLoopBackOff
  • Granular and Customizable Alerting using Events Config (Troublesome Update Events can be masked now)
  • Support for Resources like Node, ServiceAccounts, ClusterRoles.

⁠Usage

To see the list of command line options run:

docker run --rm --name <container-name> coder95/kubewatch -h

Kubewatch: A watcher for Kubernetes

kubewatch is a Kubernetes watcher that could publishes notification to Slack/hipchat/mattermost/flock channels. It watches the culster for resource changes and notifies them through webhooks.

supported webhooks:

  • slack
  • hipchat
  • mattermost
  • flock
  • webhook

Usage: kubewatch [flags] kubewatch [command]

Available Commands: config modify kubewatch configuration resource manage resources to be watched version print version

Flags: -h, --help help for kubewatch

Use "kubewatch [command] --help" for more information about a command.

To start the container interactively use the following command

docker run --rm -it --network host  -v $HOME/.kubewatch.yaml:/root/.kubewatch.yaml -v $HOME/.kube/config:/root/.kube/config --name <container-name> coder95/kubewatch

⁠Example

You can start the container interactively using the following command

docker run --rm -it --network host  -v $HOME/.kubewatch.yaml:/root/.kubewatch.yaml -v $HOME/.kube/config:/root/.kube/config --name kubewatch-app coder95/kubewatch

You can start the container as a demonised server by the following command:

docker run --rm -d --network host  -v $HOME/.kubewatch.yaml:/root/.kubewatch.yaml -v $HOME/.kube/config:/root/.kube/config --name kubewatch-app coder95/kubewatch

You can view the logs from the demonized container using the following command:

docker logs -f kubewatch-app

Stop the demonized container using

docker stop kubewatch-app
