Chef Workstation image designed to work with my Chef Server image (conroy3644/chef-server)

⁠How to pull and use

pull and run the workstation:

• docker run --sysctl net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 --privileged --name chef-workstation -d conroy3644/chef-workstation

set the server host in workstation container (to allow workstation to connect to your server):

• docker exec -it chef-workstation bash
  • vi /etc/hosts
  • enter the following line anywhere (replace with your local info): ip-address-of-chef-server container-id-of-chef-server
  • mine looks like this: 172.17.0.2 c842eb9f2d01
