development image of Coocook, a web application for organising food preparation.

This image is meant for developing your local copy of Coocook.
You first need to pull this image from Dockerhub:
docker pull coocook/coocook-dev:latest
After that you need to clone Coocook from GitLab by executing:
git clone https://gitlab.com/coocook/coocook.git
cd coocook/
Then in your local Coocook directory you need to run:
cp share/examples/dbic.yaml dbic.yaml
docker run \
--mount type=bind,source=$PWD,target=/usr/src/coocook \
--rm --tty \
coocook/coocook-dev:latest \
deploy --install
to initialize your local database.
After that you need to run:
docker run \
--mount type=bind,source=$PWD,target=/usr/src/coocook \
--name coocook-dev \
--publish 3000:3000 \
--rm --tty \
coocook/coocook-dev:latest \
serve --restart --debug
to start your local development server. Some debug messages should appear in your terminal and when everything went well your local Coocook instance should be reachable on http://localhost:3000/.
If you need an interactive shell inside the Coocook development container run following docker command while your the container is running:
docker exec -it coocook-dev sh
To stop the development server you must delete the running Docker container by running:
docker rm --force coocook-dev
in a seperate terminal.
If for some reason the database schema gets changed you need to update your docker-image via:
docker pull coocook/coocook-dev:latest
or build a new image yourself by running:
docker build . --tag coocook/coocook-dev:latest
from the root of your Coocook directory.
After that you can run:
docker run \
--mount type=bind,source=$PWD,target=/usr/src/coocook \
--rm --tty \
coocook/coocook-dev:latest \
deploy --upgrade
to upgrade your local database with the new schema.
