corefinder/urlchecker repository overview

Overview

This container platform will help you get the response code of a particular url or a list of urls. It is a python based application based on the requests model.

Requirements

  • Docker should be installed in the machine
  • Docker machine should be uo and running
  • Docker ubuntu image must be present in the system. If it is not present within your system then just do a docker run ubuntu:latest or docker pull ubuntu:latest

Procedure

  • Get the image into your local machine either from docker using the command git pull corefinder/UrlChecker or you can clone the repository using git clone [email protected]:Corefinder89/UrlChecker.git and get the latest codebase through here.
  • Once you have the docker image from docker or the latest codebase from github you need to build the corresponding application. This would essentially have all the dependencies and packages set on your container. The command to build your application through your docker would be docker build -t corefinder/UrlChecker
  • Once the build process is completed you need to execute the docker container which can be done using the command docker run -it

P.S

The application is developed in such a way that it can take either a single url as input or multiple urls as input. If you type the keyword finish the application would stop accepting inputs and start giving back the response code.
