cosort/darkshield repository overview

What is DarkShield?

IRI DarkShield is an API that finds and protects sensitive information, like personal or confidential data, across many types of sources. These can include text files, PDFs, MS Office documents, images, databases (both relational and NoSQL), and streaming data. Once found, DarkShield can either hide, mask, or erase this data to meet privacy regulations, like GDPR or HIPAA.

Note - A floating license is needed to run the image.

How to use the image

$ docker run -p 8959:8959 -v pathToLicense:/home/plankton/cosort-10.5.1/etc/cosort.lic cosort/darkshield:<tag>

What is included in the image?

  • DarkShield API
  • CoSort

Tips

For sources that use a JDBC connection, the API can run into issues locating the Jar file. If this happens, use the following command to copy the JDBC jar file into the docker container.

  • docker cp pathToJar :/home/plankton/darkshield/lib

For networking issues, ensure that JDBC URL is using an IP address and not a hostname. If that does not fix the problem, the image has telnet and ping installed to help verify if the target server is reachable by the container.
