This docker image contains Berkeley Internet Name Domain⁠ (BIND).

⁠Quick Start

⁠Using docker bridge

docker run --detach=true --dns=127.0.0.1 --publish=53:53/udp --tty=true crashvb/named

⁠Using host networking

docker run --detach=true --dns=127.0.0.1 --network=host --tty=true crashvb/named

⁠Debugging bind

⁠Querying on a non-standard port

nslookup -port=54 www.google.com

⁠Entrypoint Scripts

⁠bind

The embedded entrypoint script is located at /etc/entrypoint.d/bind and performs the following actions:

1. A new bind configuration is generated using the following environment variables:

⁠Healthcheck Scripts

⁠named

The embedded healthcheck script is located at /etc/healthcheck.d/named and performs the following actions:

1. Verifies that named is able to resolve www.google.com.
