croudtech/azure-pipeline-creator repository overview

Azure Devops Release Definition Creator

Configuration

The ./run.sh script is expecting to find a config.yaml file in the current working directory.

Example config file

templates:
  default:
    name: Release_Template
    path: \Templates
  my_special_template:
    name: Special_Template
    path: \Templates
default_path: '\Test_Release_Definitions'
default_chart: croudtech-stable/croudtech-v3-service
pipelines:
  CroudTech.cc-django-announcements:
    app: 'announcements'
    namespace_suffix: 'platform'
  CroudTech.cc-django-files:
    app: 'files'
    namespace_suffix: 'some_namespace_suffix'
    template: my_special_template
    path: \Custom_pipeline_path
    chart: croudtech-stable/simple
  CroudTech.cc-django-journals:
    app: 'some-app'
    namespace_suffix: 'my_namespace_suffix'

Specify a default template using the default as a key in the templates section. This is used for pipelines that don't specify a template.

For a full example see the config.yaml file in this repository.

Usage

Use the ./run.sh command to execute.

Dy run (default, outputs yaml preview):

./run.sh rebuild_pipelines

Apply changes (only create new release definitions):

./run.sh rebuild_pipelines --apply

Apply changes (only create and update release definitions):

./run.sh rebuild_pipelines --apply --update

Target specific pipeline:

./run.sh rebuild_pipelines --apply --only my-pipeline-name
