Apache Iceberg REST catalog with native storage, in one container for development and testing.
101
An Apache Iceberg REST catalog with native storage, packaged in a single container.
Run locally for development and evaluation. Supports Linux amd64. This development release is not intended for production use.
docker run -d --name crowdb-iceberg \
-p 127.0.0.1:80:80 \
crowdb/crowdb-iceberg:0.1.0
Check startup:
docker inspect --format '{{.State.Health.Status}}' crowdb-iceberg
Once the container is healthy, retrieve your client credentials:
docker exec crowdb-iceberg crowdb-monitor credentials show --format env
Connect your Iceberg client to http://localhost using the printed ICEBERG_TOKEN. Keep the credentials private.
Port 80 serves both the Iceberg REST catalog and Iceberg FileIO. No separate S3 port is required.
For reusable storage and automatic restart, use this command instead of the quick-start command:
docker run -d --name crowdb-iceberg \
-p 127.0.0.1:80:80 \
-v crowdb-data:/opt/crowdb/data \
--restart unless-stopped --stop-timeout 120 \
crowdb/crowdb-iceberg:0.1.0
Docker creates the named volume automatically. Reuse it with the same image version when recreating the container. Do not share it between running containers.
View logs:
docker logs --tail 100 crowdb-iceberg
Stop and restart without deleting data:
docker stop --time 120 crowdb-iceberg
docker start crowdb-iceberg
See the Docker user guide for PyIceberg examples, optional S3 access, log rotation, backups, and troubleshooting.
This single-host deployment provides no host fault tolerance. Cross-version data migration is not guaranteed.
