It is based off [danhixon/docker-sshd](https://github.com/danhixon/docker-sshd) so capistrano can connect to it via ssh.\n\n## Starting The Container\n\n`docker run -d -p 384743:22 -name -link :db -v /var/www/:/var/www/ -e APP_NAME= -e DB_USERNAME=$PG_APPUSER -e DB_PASSWORD=$PG_APPUSER_PASSWORD AUTHORIZED_KEYS=\"$(cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub)\" danhixon/rails`\n\nWhen the container starts, the necessary gems will be installed, then the DB will be prepared (created and migrated), and eventually, Passenger will be started in standalone mode. See [the start script](../master/start_passenger) which will be triggered by `supervisord`.\n\nYou will also have ssh access by virtue of the [danhixon/sshd](https://github.com/danhixon/docker-sshd) base image.\n\n###Remarks\n1. Link to a DBMS (``) of your choice. It works with danhixon/ubuntu-postgres.\n2. `` must be equal to `$APP_NAME` and - when using Capistrano - be the same on the host and in the container for deployments (because of absolute symlinks)\n3. Use AUTHORIZED_KEYS to grant sshd access to your deployment user.\n4. Override these default environment variables as needed (using `-e KEY=value`):\n * `RAILS_ENV=production`\n\n\n## Database Connection\nWhen linked to another container holdig your database, use something like this in `config/database.yml`:\n```\nproduction:\n adapter: postgresql\n database: betastore_production\n username: <%= ENV['DB_USERNAME'] %>\n password: <%= ENV['DB_PASSWORD'] %>\n host: <%= ENV['DB_PORT_5432_TCP_ADDR'] %>\n port: <%= ENV['DB_PORT_5432_TCP_PORT'] %>\n pool: 5\n timeout: 5000\n```\n\n## Serving The App\n\nTo access your Rails app from \"the outside\", install a reverse proxy on the host system and point it to the container's IP on port 80.\n\nI use Apache2. Here's how to set it up:\n\n1. Install Apache: `sudo apt-get install apache2`\n2. Create a new site under `/etc/apache2/sites-available`, e.g. a file called `appname`:\n\n```\n\n ServerName appname.your.domain\n\n ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/appname-error.log\n CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/appname-access.log combined\n\n ProxyRequests Off\n ProxyPass / http://containerip:80/\n ProxyPreserveHost On\n\n \n Order deny,allow\n Allow from all\n \n\n```\n\nN.B.: You can get the container's IP address by using: `docker inspect -format '{{ .NetworkSettings.IPAddress }}' `\n\n3. Enable the modules `proxy` and `proxy_http`:\n\n```\nsudo a2enmod proxy\nsudo a2enmod proxy_http\n```\n\n4. Enable your site and restart Apache:\n\n```\nsudo a2ensite yoursite\nsudo service apache2 restart\n```\n\n5. Test connection by pointing your browser to http://appname.your.domain\n\n","has_starred","hub_user","immutable_tags_settings",{"_75":11,"_76":77},"enabled","rules",[78],".*","is_automated","permissions",{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"read","write","admin","user","storage_size",319226684,"orgData","recentTags",[91],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_101":102,"_50":117,"_118":94,"_119":33,"_120":56,"_57":121,"_122":123,"_124":108,"_125":117,"_126":66,"_127":21},"content_type","creator",12286,"digest","sha256:49307b8754e94ee0b4f3dab86c8e2cce12dff2628bbe94e95eed6a58e5f3462d","full_size",319138822,"id",14344,"images",[103],{"_104":105,"_95":96,"_106":48,"_107":108,"_109":110,"_111":48,"_112":48,"_113":-5,"_114":115,"_63":66,"_116":-5},"architecture","amd64","features","last_pulled","2026-09-25T23:12:16.827054866Z","last_pushed","2015-10-16T08:52:36Z","os","os_features","os_version","size",319139366,"variant","2015-10-16T08:52:37Z","last_updater","last_updater_username","media_type","latest","repository",10807,"tag_last_pulled","tag_last_pushed","tag_status","v2","sbxKitMetadata","isPotentialSpam","isHubSbxKitsEnabled","showSbxLogoOverride","sbxTrademarkText","displaySecurityMetadata","tagAttestations","tagsHaveAttestations",[],"selectedTag","attestationsUrl","routes/_layout.r.$namespace.$reponame.tags",{"_38":141,"_148":149,"_135":158,"_159":11},{"_40":142,"_42":143,"_45":46,"_47":48,"_49":11,"_50":51,"_52":53,"_54":144,"_57":35,"_32":33,"_58":59,"_60":-5,"_61":62,"_63":64,"_65":66,"_67":-5,"_68":62,"_69":70,"_71":11,"_72":33,"_73":145,"_79":21,"_80":147,"_85":33,"_86":87},[],[44],[56],{"_75":11,"_76":146},[78],{"_82":21,"_83":11,"_84":11},"tags",{"_150":64,"_151":-5,"_152":-5,"_153":154},"count","next","previous","results",[155],{"_92":44,"_93":94,"_95":96,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_101":156,"_50":117,"_118":94,"_119":33,"_120":56,"_57":121,"_122":123,"_124":108,"_125":117,"_126":66,"_127":21},[157],{"_104":105,"_95":96,"_106":48,"_107":108,"_109":110,"_111":48,"_112":48,"_113":-5,"_114":115,"_63":66,"_116":-5},[],"canDeleteTags","actionData","errors"]
