⁠DATASCI 350 - Docker example image

This image is a teaching example from DATASCI 350: Data Science Computing⁠ at Emory University. It was built during Lecture 23, which covers dependency management, virtual environments, and containers.

The image is intentionally minimal. It exists to show students how to build, tag, push, and pull a Docker image, not to do anything complicated.

⁠What is inside

• Base image: python:3
• Installed packages: numpy, pandas, matplotlib
• A single script, hello.py, that prints Hello, DATASCI350!

⁠How to use it

Pull the image:

docker pull danilofreire/datasci350-example:latest

Run the container:

docker run danilofreire/datasci350-example:latest

You should see:

Hello, DATASCI350!

⁠Course context

This image accompanies the lecture slides for DATASCI 350. Students use it to practice the full Docker workflow: writing a Dockerfile, building an image locally, tagging it, pushing it to Docker Hub, and pulling it on another machine.
