Usage:

docker pull dannylam103/samtools:latest

Single node usage:

docker run -it --mount type=bind,src=/mnt,dst=/mnt dannylam103/samtools:latest samtools version

Cluster usage:

docker run -it --mount type=bind,src=/cluster,dst=/fs dannylam103/samtools:latest samtools version

You will bind your local file system, called /cluster, to the container, and it will appear as /fs.

The OS for this container has been set toUbuntu 24.04.
There are intentions to move to Alpine, for a smaller OS.

Samtools itself is installed to the path of/opt/samtools.
There are intentions to move this to /usr/local/bin/, so that it's native.
