ddelisle/kube-prometheus-stack repository overview

This chart deploys on K8-on-KVM implementation using Cloudflare Tunnel found here: https://github.com/delisled/K8-on-KVM

How I created this kube-prometheus-stack chart:

  1. Pulled kube-prometheus-stack-70.1.1.tgz
  2. Changed Grafana to use LoadBalancer
  3. Added Ingress to Helm Chart
  4. Modified Prometheus and Grafana to use the NFS-CSI storage class (protected)
  5. Uninstalled existing deployment
  6. Packaged modified chart
  7. Installed packaged chart
  8. Tests resulted in a successful deployment

Installation Instructions

Install: helm install --create-namespace --namespace monitoring kube-prometheus-stack oci://registry-1.docker.io/ddelisle/kube-prometheus-stack

Once deployed on your K8 cluster, perform these steps:

  • kubectl edit ingress -n monitoring grafana
  • Modify line with your: "[sub-domain preference].[cloudflare domain name]": external-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/hostname:
  • Modify line with your: "[cloudflare tunnel id].cfargotunnel.com": external-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/target:
  • Modify line to match your: "external-dns.alpha.kubernetes.io/hostname" entry: "spec"/"rules"/"- host"
