⁠Trakt MCP Server Docker Image

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects LLMs to the Trakt.tv API, allowing for movie/show tracking, watchlist management, and recommendations.

⁠Quick Start

Run the server mapping port 8000 and creating a volume for persistence:

docker run -d \
  -p 8000:8000 \
  -v trakt-data:/app/data \
  --name trakt-mcp \
  dhenyson/trakt-mcp:latest

Open your browser at http://localhost:8000 to complete the initial setup.

⁠Persistence

To keep your login session and configuration across restarts, you mustdb mount the /app/data directory. You can use a Docker volume (as above) or a bind mount.

⁠Using Bind Mount (Local Folder)

# Create a local directory first
mkdir -p ./trakt-data

# Run with bind mount
docker run -d \
  -p 8000:8000 \
  -v $(pwd)/trakt-data:/app/data \
  --name trakt-mcp \
  dhenyson/trakt-mcp:latest

⁠Docker Compose

Create a docker-compose.yml file:

  trakt-mcp:
    image: dhenyson/trakt-mcp:latest
    container_name: trakt-mcp
    restart: unless-stopped
    ports:
      - "8000:8000"
    volumes:
      - ./trakt-data:/app/data
    environment:
      - TOKEN_EXPIRATION_DAYS=365

⁠Configuration

⁠MCP Client Configuration

Configure your MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop, Cursor) with:

• Type: SSE (Server-Sent Events) - Not supported yet, use HTTP or via Stdio if running locally via python.
• URL: http://localhost:8000/mcp (requires Authentication Header)

Note: Accessing /mcp requires an Authorization header. See documentation for getting the token from the dashboard.
