fhirbase with instructions for persistence
1.6K
In order to create persistent data for fhirbase use the data container approach. Run these two commands
docker run --name=fhirbase-data -p 5433:5432 -d fhirbase.dhf true This creates the data container for the next command. Replace fhirbase-dhf with your proper fhirbase image. This will create a persistent storage as long as this container is not deleted.
If you want total persistence, you may specify the -v option and list the VOLUMEs assigning each to a local disk or preferred NAS device so it is not dependent upon the container server.
Then run this command:
docker run --volumes-from fhirbase-data --name=fhirbase -p 5433:5432 -d fhirbase.dhf again replacing fhirbase.dhf with your image.
Note the --volumes-from=fhirbase-data. That is the container that references the volumes already setup from the initial run. As long as the fhirbase-data is not deleted, the real fhirbase container can be stopped and removed without impacting any data stored.
