diverdale/ipam repository overview

diverdale/ipam

A lightweight IP Address Manager for home labs. Single container, no external database — SQLite-backed Go backend with a React frontend.

Features

  • Subnet management (add/edit/delete CIDRs)
  • Ping scan with live progress via SSE
  • Reverse DNS hostname discovery
  • ARP MAC address discovery
  • Host tracking (active/offline status, last seen)

Quick Start

Create a docker-compose.yml:

services:
  ipam:
    image: diverdale/ipam:latest
    container_name: ipam
    restart: unless-stopped
    network_mode: host
    volumes:
      - ./config:/config

network_mode: host is required for ARP MAC discovery and accurate ping scanning. The app binds to port 8080 on the host.

Then run:

docker compose up -d

Open http://<host-ip>:8080 in your browser.

Notes

  • Config and SQLite database are stored in ./config/ on the host
  • Scans run inside the host network namespace so the ARP table is fully visible
  • Hostname discovery uses reverse DNS (PTR records) — results depend on your DNS setup
