This is a Linux container that uses the Let's Encrypt v2 ACME production server to generate a certificate. It will write the certificate and private key as files in addition to console output. It uses port 80 and http challenge validation, so port 80 must be free on the system.

⁠Environment Variables

  • ACCOUNTPEM
    Full path to the account PEM file to use. If omitted, specify EMAILADDRESS or ACCOUNTPEMTEXT.

  • ACCOUNTPEMTEXT The actual private key in PEM format to use. If not specified, specify EMAILADDRESS or ACCOUNTPEM.

  • EMAILADDRESS
    The email address to use to create an account. If not specified, ACCOUNTPEM or ACCOUNTPEMTEXT must be specified.

  • COUNTRY
    The 2-letter country code

  • ST
    State

  • LO
    City or locality

  • ORG
    Organization

  • OU
    Organization Unit

  • CN
    Common name

  • OUTCERT
    The path to the output certificate file in PEM format. This must be on a volume exposed by the container through the -v option.

  • OUTKEY
    The path to the output private key file in PEM format. This must be on a volume exposed by the container through the -v option.

  • STAGING
    Optional parameter to use the staging server for testing. Set this to true to use the staging parameter.
