kali-net

Dockerized Kali linux image for network security testing

This image includes the metasploit framework preconfigured to work with a postgresql database, openvas already setup with the latest nvt database as of the time the image was built (You w ill want to run openvas-nvt-update). The image also includes wireshark and rpcbind.

The images exposes port 9391 for the greenbone desktop assistant. The /public, /var/lib/postgresql and /root folders are shared as volumes as well.

A series of bash scripts which can be used to run openvas from the command-line have been included in /usr/local/bin. Before running openvas for the first time, you need to run: /ussr/local/bin/reset_password

This script allows you to specify the administrative password for openvas which will be required for all bash scripts as well as the greenbone desktop assistant.

A bash script "run-kali-net.sh" is included in the git repository to illustrate the recommended way to run this container.
