⁠C++ Compilers Base Image (L1)

This is the Layer 1 (L1) image of the C++ development suite. It builds on doner357/dev-tools-base to provide a complete C++ compiler environment.

⁠Image Hierarchy

• L0: doner357/dev-tools-base (Provides common tools)
• L1: doner357/cpp-compilers-base (This image: Adds GCC & Clang)
• L2: doner357/cpp-conan-base (Adds Conan package manager)

⁠Key Features

• Inherits all tools and features from doner357/dev-tools-base.
• GCC 14: The GNU Compiler Collection.
• Clang 18 Toolchain: Includes clang, clang++, clangd, clang-tidy, clang-format, lld, and lldb.
• Ninja Build System: Included for fast, parallel builds.

⁠Available Tags

This image uses a composite tagging scheme: [version]-[os]-[components].

• Immutable: 1.1.0-noble-c18g14
• Minor Floating: 1.1-noble-c18g14
• Latest Floating: latest-noble-c18g14

This image is ideal for CI/CD pipelines or as a base for other tools that require C++ compilers.

# Pull a specific version
docker pull doner357/cpp-compilers-base:1.1.0-noble-c18g14

# Run and verify compilers
docker run -it --rm doner357/cpp-compilers-base:1.1.0-noble-c18g14 bash -c "g++ --version && clang++ --version"
