⁠Readme

⁠General informations

I was tired of waiting for the free queue or have building issues locally so I made this container. I use the steps below to build my app

⁠Installation steps:

• Pull the image on your local machine: docker pull drizzo/expo-builder:latest
• Create the container: docker run --name expo-builder -it drizzo/expo-builder
• We need to configure git: git config --global user.name YOUR NAME and git config --global user.email [email protected]
• Exit from the container: exit
• Generate a token for eas if you don't have one https://expo.dev/settings/access-tokens⁠ (optional)

⁠Building steps:

• From your local machine copy your app: docker cp YOURAPP expo-builder:/root/app
• Start the container: docker start expo-builder
• Enter the container shell: docker attach expo-builder
• Set the correct permissions: chown -R root:root /root/app
• Enter the app folder: cd /root/app
• Connect to EAS with: eas login or using the generated token export EXPO_TOKEN=YourToken
• Install dependencies: yarn install
• Build the app with your preferred options and don't forget --local (example eas build -p android --profile preview --local)

⁠Comment

After building the app, if you generated an apk you can do the following steps to copy it to your local machine:

• Change the randomically generated name in case of apk: mv $(ls | grep apk) ../build.apk
• Clean the building environment by removing the source folder: rm -rf /root/app (optional)
• Exit from the container: exit
• Copy back the files: docker cp expo-builder:/root/build.apk ./build.apk
