eapyl/syslog-collector repository overview

The simplest syslog collector for rfc5424 (by TCP). Write syslogs without any parsing to a set of text files, one per day.

It is used with logspout⁠

Example of docker-compose file:

logspout:
    image: gliderlabs/logspout
    command: syslog+tcp://logcollector:5000
    volumes:
      - /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock
    depends_on:
      - logcollector
  logcollector:
    image: eapyl/syslog-collector
    volumes: 
      - $PWD/../logs:/log/logs

it will start collect all docker logs(stdout and stderr streams) and put them to logs folder. It doesn't parse a message or filter, just read syslog message as string and push it to file. Internally it uses serilog rolling files⁠ default values: one file per day, max size of log - 1 GB. See more info by previous link.
