Webchain miner, connect your instance to a mining pool
949
Lucentinian Works Co Ltd is glad to bring you our Webchain miner docker image.
As per their website says, Webchain is a transparent, egalitarian, ASIC-resistant and smart contract compatible blockchain protocol, built to be mined via websites.
In summary, it is a CPU-only based altcoin which mades it suitable to be embedded into a docker image without requiring extra hardware.
This miner is intended to work within a pool, so the configuration is based on how to connect it to the existing pools.
The best is to craft your own config.json file and map it replacing the one existing in the docker image which has no account.
For example, we have craft it to connect to several pools at once:
{
"av": 0, // algorithm variation, 0 auto select
"background": false, // true to run the miner in the background
"colors": true, // false to disable colored output
"cpu-affinity": null, // set process affinity to CPU core(s), mask "0x3" for cores 0 and 1
"cpu-priority": null, // set process priority (0 idle, 2 normal to 5 highest)
"donate-level": 5, // donate level, mininum 1%
"log-file": null, // log all output to a file, example: "c:/some/path/webchain-miner.log"
"max-cpu-usage": 75, // maximum CPU usage for automatic mode, usually limiting factor is CPU cache not this option.
"print-time": 60, // print hashrate report every N seconds
"retries": 5, // number of times to retry before switch to backup server
"retry-pause": 5, // time to pause between retries
"safe": false, // true to safe adjust threads and av settings for current CPU
"syslog": false, // use system log for output messages
"threads": null, // number of miner threads

If you change "background": false to "background": true then, when you start your docker instance, the docker instance will be terminated right after the miner has started because the miner has been started as a daemon instead of the foreground process. This is the default behavior of docker, no related with webchain miner.
The value of "pass" is your "Unencrypted Private Key" related with your user, which is the address in the webchain network.
Since it is a docker image, if you want to log what the miner is doing, you can configure the log file entry as "log-file":"/dev/stdout", then the logs will be mixed with the pool information activity.
Please notice the donations are enabled to 5% in the configuration above.
Find more information in the webchain how to mine doc.
The configuration of above has been placed inside of the folder webchain-miner.ehehdada.com, we have mapped it replacing the default config.json, and we have created the instance with the name webchain-miner.ehehdada.com in our docker network.
docker run --name webchain-miner.ehehdada.com -dit -v $(pwd)/webchain-miner.ehehdada.com/config.json:/config.json ehehdada/webchain-miner
If you have found this docker image useful enough, you may consider to provide a donation to the authors.
