Docker image containing dnscrypt-proxy and a simple, working server on port 5053.
docker run --name dnscrypt-proxy -p 5053:5053/udp -p 5053:5053/tcp elgeeko/dnscrypt-proxy
dig @0.0.0.0 -p 5053 example.com
should return a successful DNS query for example.com
Modify the default configuration following dnscrypt-proxy documentation and save to your host filesystem. Then map the file into the docker container by adding the following arguments to your docker run command:
--volume dnscrypt-proxy.toml:/etc/dnscrypt-proxy/dnscrypt-proxy.toml
This will improve performance by persisting DNS cache across container restarts.
First create a docker volume:
docker volume create dnscrypt-proxy-cache
then map it into the container by adding the following volume map to the docker run command:
--volume dnscrypt-proxy-cache:/var/cache/dnscrypt-proxy
