New eLxr bianca-26.04.01 container version based on Debian 13.3 with standard, slim, and minimal images
Note: This version now defaults to the latest eLxr Docker image
New eLxr 12.13 minimal images based on the Debian minbase criteria
Updated standard and slim images for eLxr 12.13
For release-specific information, see the eLxr release notes:
For additional information on slim and minimal images, see Release Information: Minimal Images.
eLxr includes a variety of container images on DockerHub to meet your development needs. For Docker-specific information on pulling the eLxr images found on this page, go to elxrlinux/elxr.
System images include standard, slim, and minimal for amd64 (x86_64) and arm64, version 8. A standard image comprises the full eLxr installation experience, while the minimimum and slim images provide a much leaner footprint for scenarios where a full image is not necessary, or to create a custome image based on eLxr with only the content you need, without all the dependencies that require additional system resources and may create additional security overhead.
For information on installing eLxr container images, see the eLxr Quick Start: Image Container with Docker.
The following tables comprise the containers available for the latest eLxr releases. For earlier releases,go to https://hub.docker.com/r/elxrlinux/elxr/tags?ordering=-name and filter for the specific version.

“Distroless” images contain only your application and its runtime dependencies and do not contain package managers, shells or any other programs you would expect to find in a standard Linux distribution. By design, they deploy only what is necessary for your application to run and nothing else.
eLxr distroless images include java17, nodejs18, with root and non-root versions, and python. For information on creating and running eLxr distroless images, see the eLxr tutorial.

Using elxrlinux/elxr as an example, run the following commands to pull the latest image:
docker pull elxrlinux/elxr:bianca
docker run -it --name elxr elxrlinux/elxr:bianca /bin/bash
To run a different container, substitute bianca in the first command above with the Docker tag for the container you want to run.

The eLxr project is a community-driven effort dedicated to broadening access to cutting-edge technologies for both enthusiasts and enterprise users seeking reliable and innovative solutions that scale from edge to cloud. The project produces and maintains an open source, enterprise-grade Debian-derivative distribution called eLxr that is easy for users to adopt and that fully honors the open source philosophy.
The eLxr project’s mission is centered on accessibility, innovation, and maintaining the integrity of open source software. Making these advancements in an enterprise-grade Debian-derivative ensures that users benefit from a freely available Linux distribution.
By emphasizing ease of adoption alongside open source principles, eLxr aims to attract a broad range of users and contributors who value both innovation and community-driven development, fostering collaboration and transparency and the spread of new technologies.
The eLxr project is establishing a robust strategy for building on Debian’s ecosystem while also contributing back to it. Because “Debian citizens” contribute eLxr innovations and improvements upstream, they are actively participating in the community’s development activities. This approach not only enhances eLxr’s own distribution but also strengthens Debian by expanding its feature set and improving its overall quality.
The ability to release technologies at various stages of Debian’s development lifecycle and to introduce innovative new content not yet available in Debian highlights eLxr’s agility and responsiveness to emerging needs. Moreover, the commitment to sustainability ensures that contributions made by eLxr members remain accessible and beneficial to the broader Debian community over the long term.
