erigontech/nitro-erigon repository overview

Erigon Nitro

Erigon Nitro is a fork of Erigon client with support for Arbitrum sepolia network. Arbitrum One support is in progress and not yet publicly available.

Arbiturm Sepolia-rollup

To run instance of Erigon-Arbiturm, do:

mkdir /disk/datadir && \
docker run -d -v /disk/datadir/:/home/user/erigon-data/ \
 erigontech/nitro-erigon:v0.0.4 \
 --torrent.download.rate=10G \
 --prune.mode=archive \
 --l2rpc="http://rpcserver:port" \
 --l2rpc.receipt="http://rpcserver:port"

--l2rpc - RPC node for downloading transactions and blocks from. We recommend to use pruned local Nitro node for that.

--l2rpc.receipt - to download receipts from different node. Needed for Timeboost support and for correct gas spending within ArbitrumSubmitRetryableTx

--prune.mode - you can use minimal and full - to get smaller but less functional instances. Arhive includes full state history (but no commitment yet).

Additionally, you may be interested in adding:

--experimental.commitment-history - keep commitment history per block (for eth_getProof support). Disabled by default since reduces node throughput and increases disk usage. --sync.loop.block.limit - limit number of blocks processed per stage. Default is 5000 blocks meaning that 5k blocks will be downloaded first and then executed.

For more info about command line flags, consult with docs.

List of flags already carried by Dockerfile:

--datadir /home/user/erigon-data
--chain arb-sepolia
--http.api eth,net,web3,debug,txpool,erigon,debug
--http.addr 0.0.0.0
--ws
--metrics
--metrics.port 6062
--metrics.addr 0.0.0.0
--log.console.verbosity info
--verbosity info

Erigon tooling usage

There is a bunch of handy tools shipped along with Erigon binary. To use them:

mkdir /disk/datadir && \
docker run -d -v /disk/datadir/:/home/user/erigon-data/ \
 erigontech/nitro-erigon:v0.0.4 \
    snapshots reset \ # command to run, followed by its args
    --chain arb-sepolia \
    --datadir /home/user/erigon-data \

Make sure you specified --chain and --datadir flags correctly. Datadir should be mounted to your image to operate correctly.

Given command will reset your node downloading status and remove chaindata. That means, on next start node will check existing downloads and fill the gaps if needed.
