escalope/inkscape-sozi repository overview

A tool to run the Sozi tool (credits to Guillaume Savaton, https://github.com/senshu/Sozi⁠) for creating prezi-like presentations starting from SVGs. You have to:

• Create a big SVG with all your content. You can zoom or unzoom to create the content layout
• Then run Sozi over the SVG to create the animated content. Sozi gives the zoom+pan actions characteristics of Prezi.
• Once you have them ready, you save everything. You'll get sozi files plus an html that includes a Sozi player
• In the meantime, you can add new content to the SVG in a separated tool and reload from Sozi without affecting the presentation

The SVG can be created and modified with Inkscape. Inkscape used to have a Sozi plugin, but it is obsolete. This Sozi is a more modern version (v18 and higher) than the linux distros plugin version for inkscape (maybe v14 and lower? which is discontinued).

Presentations can be exported to other formats with Sozi-Export, please check options with https://github.com/senshu/Sozi-export⁠

To run the Inkscape

To run the Sozi software

To export the presentation to other formats

docker run --user $UID  -ti --rm -w /foo -v "`pwd`":/foo escalope/inkscape-sozi:latest sozi-to-video whatever_presentation.sozi.html

docker run --user $UID  -ti --rm -w /foo -v "`pwd`":/foo escalope/inkscape-sozi:latest sozi-to-pdf whatever_presentation.sozi.html 

docker run --user $UID  -ti --rm -w /foo -v "`pwd`":/foo escalope/inkscape-sozi:latest sozi-to-pptx whatever_presentation.sozi.html
