This repository hosts a container image for a Go web application named Hellocow. The goal of this application is to empower developers to seamlessly deploy the image on various Kubernetes cloud services, such as GKE, EKS and AKS as a microservice test-case. The image is based on the golang:1.20 base image.
The container runs an instance of the web application that listens on port 8080. It sets environment variables for the application, (including the port to listen on 8080) and the level of stack traces to display (all). The application source files are copied into the working directory, and the executable file "hellocow" is built using the Go programming language.
To use this container image, you can pull it from Docker Hub and run it in your environment.
This container image was created by Eduardo Toro in the year 2023 and Licensed under the MIT license.
Please note:
Ensure you have Docker installed and configured in your environment. For further details and code references, please refer to the source repository https://github.com/etoromol/app-hellocow.
