Simple container for providing SSH access.
1.0K
This is a very simple container to provide containerised SSH access to a Ubuntu system. The root password is set randomly on startup and listed in the Docker logs for the container. Systemd does not work inside containers created with this image (neither does it in most other containers, nor should it).
$ docker run -dp <some_port>:22 eyedevelop/ubuntu-sshd:20.04
This creates a container that people can SSH into, on the port you chose. Provide the root password to the person that is authorised to use the container.
Let's say you have a system on 10.0.200.5 and you want to give someone access to this machine, but containerised. You would run the following command on the server:
$ docker run -dp 5050:22 eyedevelop/ubuntu-sshd:20.04
Now the authorised person can access this container, provided he got the password from you, with:
$ ssh -p 5050 [email protected]
