fallenreaper/discord-webhook-forwarder repository overview

This webhook forwarder exists to allow smaller payloads to be pushed around. It allows for smaller, simpler payloads upstream. You will need to run this server such that port 80 is exposed. You will also want to set the environment variable: DISCORD_WEBHOOK_URL

All POST requests will need to be directed to /hook

Your payload can be a simple string, or if it has the mimetype of "application/json" you will need the following Key-Value Pairs.

  • author
  • content
  • title

A sample command to run would be: docker run -d -p 80:80 -env DISCORD_WEBHOOK_URL=mysampleurl fallenreaper/discord-webhook-forwarder:latest

A sample request can be made: curl -XPOST -H 'Content-type: application/json' -d '{"author":"Mario", "content":"Its a me!!","title":"Who Am I?"}' 0.0.0.0/hook

NOTE: If you are running this from a personal computer, you will need the IP to your house, and then on your router to forward for port 80 to your desired hosts's ip. If you do not know your ip, you can always visit whatsmyip.com to find it. that would be the ip you would use to curl or send requests to. Your router would catch the requests and send them to the machine on the network you have the docker container running at.
