UniverseProject Readme#

This project is a multimodule maven project. It is using jetty (9.3.0.M2) server to run.
Liquibase to generate database. Mybatis to handle the database.
The client side is angular (1.4.5) based, the server side technology is spring (4.3.4.RELEASE).
Maven and bower required.
Using WRO to piece together the js and css files (by modules). It is generated by the server.
(Through the mvn install which runs on jetty:run and which includes the bower components install)
The database is mysql on localhost (port 3306), database name is 'universe'.
(The whole schema is generated by liquibase - persist-db module)
Currently logs are generated only into console in runtime.

The modules are the following:

###Webapp ### This is the main module of the project. It contains all views and web resources. It include Service Implementation module as dependency that contains Model Module, Repository Module and Service Api Module. ###Model ### Module that contains all Entities and Visual Objects to be used in the project. It doesn't have any dependencies. ###Dao implementation ### Module that contains repositories implementation defined on Repository API module. Depends of Model Module. ###Dao ### Module that contains API to all repositories to be used in the project. Depends of Model and Repository Implementation Modules. ###Service api ### Module that contains API of all project services. Depends of Model Module. ###Service implementation ### Module that contains services implementation defined on Service API module. Depends of Repository Module and Service API Module. ###persist-db ### This module contains the database schema. Changesets are setting up the database objects. Liquibase and database configurations are in properties files.

How to deploy on server?

  • Mysql server up and running with open 3306 port is required, go into the persist-db module and run the following: (liquibase:dropAll is optional in the command)
#!cmd

mvn resources:resources liquibase:dropAll liquibase:update
  • In the parent directory of the project ('UniverseProject' folder) run this to install the application
#!cmd

mvn clean install
  • To start the embedded jetty server go into the 'webapp' folder and run:
#!cmd

mvn jetty:run

Now the Jetty server is up and running!
