fkarpint/carbonwise repository overview

CarbonWise Node (Public Observer / RPC)

This Docker image runs a CarbonWise Blockchain node, based on GoQuorum, configured as a non-validator (observer) — ideal for connecting external clients, applications, and wallets to the CarbonWise private blockchain network.

The container automatically initializes the data directory with the provided genesis file, generates a persistent node key (for stable enode identity), and exposes both P2P and RPC/WebSocket interfaces.

Usage example:

docker run -d \ --name cw-observer \ -p 36039:36039/tcp -p 36039:36039/udp \ -p 8080:8080 -p 8081:8081 \ -v $(pwd)/data:/data/data \ -e NETWORK_ID=2025 \ -e HTTP_VHOSTS="localhost,127.0.0.1,api.carbonwise.io" \ -e HTTP_CORS="*" \ fkarpint/blockchaincarbonwise:latest

Once running, you can interact with the node:

Query client version

curl -s http://localhost:8080 \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"web3_clientVersion","params":[],"id":1}'

Check latest block number

curl -s http://localhost:8080 \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"eth_blockNumber","params":[],"id":1}'

Default values

CarbonWise network identifier

P2P_PORT: 36039 | Peer-to-peer communication port

HTTP_PORT: 8080 | HTTP JSON-RPC port

WS_PORT: 8081 | WebSocket RPC port

Notes

  • This image does not perform mining or validation — it’s purely for observation and RPC access.
  • Compatible with any GoQuorum-based PoA network (e.g., QBFT consensus).
