Webvirtmgr Dockerfile

WebVirtMgr is a libvirt-based Web interface for managing virtual machines. It allows you to create and configure new domains, and adjust a domain's resource allocation. It was created by retspen and is available on github.

Docker Hub Version Tag

TagDescription
latestbuild from latest sources on github
ubuntu-xx.yybuild from ubuntu lts image of that version; code has matching git tag

At the moment, all images use the same version of webvirtmgr:

  • webvirtmgr version: v4.8.9

Preparations

  1. Install Docker
  2. Pull the image from Docker Hub
  3. Create volume for persistent data
$ docker pull flexible1983/webvirtmgr-docker:ubuntu-18.04
$ docker volume create webvirtmgr-data

Usage

$ docker run -d \
  -p 8080:8080 \
  -p 6080:6080 \
  -v webvirtmgr-data:/data \
  --name webvirtmgr \
  flexible1983/webvirtmgr-docker:ubuntu-18.04

To use local socket for libvirtd, bind mount the socket to /var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock.

$ docker run -d \
  -p 8080:8080 \
  -p 6080:6080 \
  -v webvirtmgr-data:/data \
  -v /var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock:/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock \
  --name webvirtmgr \
  flexible1983/webvirtmgr-docker:ubuntu-18.04

Create an admin user if running the first time.
