gaesi/greenplum repository overview

GreenPlum image

The provided image does not initiate the database on its entrypoint. In order to run a gpdb you have to follow the steps:

1 - Run the container with docker run (or via docker-compose)

docker run -it --hostname=gpdbsne --name greenplum --publish 5432:5432 --publish 88:22 gaesi/greenplum bin/bash

2 - Start gpdb with the script

startGPDB.sh

3 - Use gpadmin user

su - gpadmin

4 - Access database with psql

psql

For aditional database and configurations available, see /gpdata/master/gpseg-1/pg_hba.conf. After making changes, use gpadmin and restart gpdb:

su - gpadmin
gpstop
gpstart

And that's it. For more information about GreenPlum, follow the official docs.
