garfieldwtf/minio repository overview

MinIO Legacy Web UI Image

This image preserves the original MinIO frontend experience, allowing you to create Access Keys, Secret Keys, and Buckets directly through the web interface.

Image: garfieldwtf/minio:2025.2.28

Why this image?

This is the last MinIO release that includes the classic frontend where you can:

  • Create and manage access keys
  • Generate secret keys
  • Create and configure buckets
  • Use the full web UI without feature restrictions

Starting from versions after 2025.2.28, MinIO has removed or restricted these capabilities from the built-in web interface.

Base Image

Based on bitnami/minio:2025.2.28 - the official Bitnami image of the final classic UI release.

Quick Start

services:
  minio:
    image: garfieldwtf/minio:2025.2.28

      - 9000:9000
      - 9001:9001
    environment:
      MINIO_ROOT_USER: "root"
      MINIO_ROOT_PASSWORD: "1234asdf"
      # MINIO_SERVER_URL: "minio.example.com" # Uncomment for custom domain
    volumes:

Docker Run

  -v /data/docker/minio2:/bitnami/minio/data \

Data Persistence

Important Notes

  • This image preserves the last version with full UI key/bucket creation capabilities
  • Future versions of MinIO have removed or limited these web UI features
  • For production use, consider setting strong passwords and using HTTPS reverse proxies

Support

This image is provided as-is for users who need the legacy MinIO web UI functionality. No active development or updates will be provided beyond the 2025.2.28 release.

License

Same as the original MinIO project - GNU AGPLv3.

garfieldwtf/minio:pgsty

A personal rebuild based on pgsty/minio, a community-maintained fork of MinIO with the full admin console restored.

The official minio/minio image removed admin console features (access key management, user/group management, bucket policies, lifecycle rules) from the community edition in May 2025, restricting them to a paid AIStor license. This image restores full console functionality by embedding georgmangold/console — a community-maintained fork of the original MinIO console.
