📥 Pull the Image

docker pull garywheeler/gogs:v0.1

🚀 Run the Gogs Service

docker run -d \
  --name gogs \
  -p 3100:3000 \ # Web UI

  garywheeler/gogs:v0.1

🌐 Access the Web UI

Open your browser and go to:

http://localhost:3100

Follow the setup wizard:

  • Database: SQLite3 (default)
  • App URL: http://localhost:3100/
  • Set admin user (e.g., root / 123456)

🔐 SSH Access (Optional)

Clone repos using SSH:

git clone ssh://git@localhost:10022/your-user/your-repo.git

💾 Data Persistence

  • All configuration, repos, and user data are stored in /data
  • Mapped to a Docker volume: gogs-data
  • This ensures data survives container restarts

You can use this container to:

  • Self-host Git repositories
  • Test CI/CD pipelines
  • Integrate with tools like Drone, Jenkins, etc.
