gbif/ipt repository overview

The GBIF IPT (Integrated Publishing Toolkit) allows organizations and institutions holding biodiversity data (observations, specimens, checklists etc) to publish that data in a standard format. The datasets may then be registered with GBIF.org, which will index them as part of a dataset containing over 2 billion biodiversity records. The resulting data is available for free reuse by scientist, researchers and policy-makers worldwide.
