giuseppeav/ffmpeg repository overview

The image offers the framework FFmpeg version 3.1.6 on Ubuntu 16.04. FFmpeg is composed by ffmpeg (command line tool to convert audio and video), ffserver (server to streaming media content), replay (media player) and probe (stream analyzer). Moreover, the following Ubuntu packages are installed: net-tools, iproute2, ethanol, wget and opera.

By default, once run the image, the command /bin/bash will be executed. An example of Docker command to run ffserver:

docker run -p 8090:8090 --name ffmpeg_container -d giuseppeav/ffmpeg ffserver -f .../ffserver.conf

8090 is the default FFserver TCP port, -d to run the container in background, -f indicates where, inside the image, is located the conf file for the video server.
