Local web server to get information on cosmicflows
265
This application deploys a local web server to answer queries on cosmicflows, similar to the website https://cosmicflows.iap.fr/. The image includes the necessary basic data. The image provides a basic webserver setup by flask to answer queries and a single work queue managed through redis.
The container download data it requires from the cosmicflows.iap.fr webserver. This is done only once if you mount the container volume /flow_data:
docker run -v your_directory:/flow_data:Z --link your_redis_container:redis -p your_port:5000 glvx/cosmicflows
In your mounted volume you will notice two new files: dField_57Runs.npy and vfield_57Runs.npy. These are the full field description of the model. They are used to create the different distribution function that you are going to request through the REST API.
You need to pull a redis docker for this work:
docker pull redis
docker run -d --name redis1 redis
And decide which port you want to map the application too (for example 5000). Once this is done you can browse to "http://localhost:5000"
