This is a pre-release of a personal project, and is not currently production ready.

Metaphor is a service built for quickly creating RESTful APIs in conjunction with domain experts.

It uses mongodb exclusively as its back end, and relies heavily on the aggregation framework.

It allows the user to create a simple API, including resources, collections of resources, and links between the,

The calculation engine allows the user to create dynamic versions of aggregate values and collections of resources.

Any calculations are re-calculated on the fly and the results cached in mongo, as a field of the resource. This allows for subsequent queries and calculations to be run on the calculated values.

It has an authorization mechanism based on the layout of the created domain. Users may be given fine grained access to resources based on their canonical url.
