⁠About Graphcore

Graphcore⁠ invented the Intelligence Processing Unit (IPU) and Poplar® SDK to let innovators create the next breakthroughs in machine intelligence.

⁠What is PopRT?

PopRT is a high-performance inference framework specifically for Graphcore IPU. It is responsible for deeply optimizing the trained models, generating executable program that can run on the Graphcore IPUs, and performing low-latency, high-throughput inference.

⁠Base Images

The default base image is Ubuntu focal⁠.

⁠Image Tags

Image tag format:<PopRT-version>-sdk-<sdk-version>-<os-distro>-<os-version>-<build-date>, For example, 1.0.0-sdk-3.1.0-ubuntu-20.04-20230223 indicates version 1.0.0 of PopRT, build with Poplar SDK version 3.1.0, based on an official Ubuntu 20.04 image, built on 23th February 2023. The most recent build using a specific OS base image is referenced by <PopRT-version>-sdk-<sdk-version>-<os-distro>-<os-version>, for example, 1.0.0-sdk-3.1.0-ubuntu-20.04. The most recent build using the default base OS image is referenced by <PopRT-version>, for example, 1.0.0.

latest always refers to the most recent PopRT release using the default OS base image.

Graphcore may update images following their initial publication. To always obtain the latest image, we recommend that you do not specify a tag including the . If you wish to pin a specific version for your builds, we suggest using the SHA256 of the image and checking Docker Hub regularly for updates.
