⁠What is ubuntu-wsl-development?

This image is used as a base image for building a wsl development environment. It works in conjunction with the project development-environment-wsl⁠.

The image is built for the following architectures:

• linux/amd64

⁠How to use this image

Use like you would any other image:

FROM gchaetz/ubuntu-wsl-development:latest

However,like mentioned above it is used in conjunction with the project development-environment-wsl⁠ to build out a wsl dev environment.

Maven's stock /etc/maven/settings.xml is removed at build time -- it isn't needed (nothing here configures a custom Maven repo/proxy) and its placeholder credential-looking template text otherwise trips Trivy's secret scanner as a false positive.

As with all Docker images, these likely also contain other software which may be under other licenses (such as Bash, etc from the base distribution, along with any direct or indirect dependencies of the primary software being contained).

As for any pre-built image usage, it is the image user's responsibility to ensure that any use of this image complies with any relevant licenses for all software contained within.
