gstalt/aspnetcore-plus repository overview

This repository provides base images for ASPNET Core. The images are intended for containers that require additional libraries such as GDI+ or Proj4 in addition to ASPNET Core.

• GDI+ is a library used by System.Drawing to create graphics. => tags -gdi
• Proj4 is a library for conversion between geographical coordinate system (a focus of my work is geographical information system). => tags -proj4

As a basis for ASPNET Core, images for Debian (buster-slim) and Ubuntu (focal) were used for APSNET Core 3.1 and 5.0

On Debian, apt-get is usually used to install a not quite up-to-date verion of libgdiplus, where alpha channel is ignored in DrawImage(). This has been fixed in the images available here by compiling a current version of libgdiplus for Debian and copying it into the buster-slim image (see github repository)
