gstalt/gview-server repository overview

This repostory provides production ready Image of a gView Server.

gView GIS is Open Source and consists of desktop applications for creating maps and the gView server for publishing the maps as map services (WMS, GeoServices REST, etc).

https://github.com/jugstalt/gview-gis

docker run -d -p 45622:8080 --name=gview-server -e GV_REPOSITORY_PATH=/etc/gview-repository -e GV_ONLINERESOURCE_URL=http://localhost:45622 gstalt/gview-server:latest

You can use the following environment variables to override settings in the _config/mapserver.json

  • GV_REPOSITORY_PATH: A path, where files for services, client, output, etc will be stored. For production, this should be an directory outside der container. Otherweise you will loose the settings atfer restarting the container

  • GV_ONLINERESOURCE_URL: The Url with which the server is visible to the outside. This url is used, for example, to pass map images to a client via the output directory

After stating the container you can call http://localhost:45622 in your browser to manage gView Server

If you want to completly individualize the _config/mapserver.config use the https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/gstalt/gview-server-base image

If you want to use gView5 Server with kubernetes, a ymal can look like this:
