⁠What is the AWS Bake/Deploy AMI Plugin?

This plugin supports the migration of the following Spinnaker Stages to Harness:

• Bake (AWS)
• Deploy (To deploy AMI backed with Packer)

This plugin is used to help support the Spinnaker to Harness Migrator⁠.

We recommend using the latest release/tag. Consequently, the documentation on this page supports only the lastest release/tag.

⁠Supported Environment Variables

For each spinnaker stage, the following environment variables are supported.

⁠Common Parameters:

• AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID: AWS access key ID
• AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY: AWS secret access key

⁠Action: Bake Image

⁠Parameters:

• PACKAGE_NAME : The package(s) to install, as Spinnaker artifacts
• BASE_OS : The named base os to resolve from rosco's configuration
• BASE_NAME : The named base image to resolve from rosco's configuration
• STORE_TYPE : Store type for the bake image. Options: (ebs, s3, docker)
• VM_TYPE : Virtual machine type. Options: (pv, hvm)
• BASE_AMI : The explicit machine image to use, instead of resolving one from rosco's configuration
• BAKE_REGIONS : AWS regions where the image will be created. Separated by ,
• REBAKE : (default: true) Enforce creation of AMI
• BASE_LABEL : Label use as suffix in AMI name. Options: (release, candidate, previous, unstable, foundation)
• AMI_SUFFIX : Suffix name added to the AMI name.
• INSTANCE_TYPE : AWS instance type to resolve from rosco's configuration
• AMI_NAME : The name of the result AMI
• TEMPLATE_FILE_NAME : Path to the packer's template to create the AMI
• DRONE_OUTPUT : (optional): Path to the drone_output file for outputs

⁠Action: Deploy Image

⁠Parameters:

• CLUSTERS: Json configuration of Spinnaker cluster to be deployed.
• AMI_NAME: Machine Image name to be deployed.
