hexastack/hexabot-ui repository overview

Hexabot Frontend Docker Image

This Docker image contains the frontend application for Hexabot v2.

Hexabot v2 is the previous generation of Hexabot, a chatbot builder that allows users to create and manage AI-powered, multi-channel, and multilingual chatbot experiences. This image packages only the frontend/admin UI component of Hexabot v2 and is intended to be used together with the other Hexabot v2 services.

Important: This image is for Hexabot v2 only. It is not the recommended frontend distribution model for Hexabot v3. For new projects, we recommend using the latest Hexabot v3 setup and documentation.

Hexabot v2 Community Edition is an open-source chatbot solution that allows users to create and manage AI-powered, multi-channel, and multilingual chatbots with ease. Hexabot is designed for flexibility and customization, offering powerful text-to-action capabilities.

This Docker image contains the frontend app of Hexabot v2, built with Next.js, and is published under hexastack/hexabot-ui.

How to Use the Docker Image

Pull the Docker Image

To pull the Docker image, use the following command:

docker pull hexastack/hexabot-ui:latest
Run the Docker Container

You can run the Hexabot frontend container in standalone mode with this command:

docker run -d \
  --name hexabot-frontend \
  -p 8080:8080 \
  --env-file .env \
  hexastack/hexabot-ui:latest

This command will start the frontend service and expose it on port 8080. Make sure you have your environment variables configured in a .env file.

Running with Docker Compose

You can also use Docker Compose to manage the frontend along with other services such as the API. Here's an example docker-compose.yml snippet for the frontend service:

services:
  hexabot-frontend:
    container_name: frontend
    image: hexastack/hexabot-ui:latest
    env_file: .env
    ports:
      - ${APP_FRONTEND_PORT}:8080
    networks:
      - app-network
    depends_on:
      api:
        condition: service_healthy

In this setup, make sure to define the APP_FRONTEND_PORT variable in your .env file to specify the port on which the frontend will be available.

Environment Variables

Below is a table describing the environment variables required for the frontend app:

Variable Description

VariableDescription
NEXT_PUBLIC_API_ORIGINThe URL of the Hexabot API
NEXT_PUBLIC_SSO_ENABLEDSet to true if Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled.
