MCP server for Claude Desktop to manage a self-hosted Plex + Servarr media stack
10K+
A Claude Desktop MCP server for troubleshooting and managing a self-hosted Plex + Servarr media stack, plus the download and infrastructure layers around it — Radarr, Sonarr, SABnzbd, qBittorrent, Tautulli, TMDb, Prowlarr, and remote Ubuntu host monitoring over SSH.
This isn't a generic Plex wrapper — it's an operations assistant. It diagnoses missing media, watches download queue health, evaluates indexer and cluster status, and coordinates safe batch operations (like controlled quality upgrades) from inside Claude Desktop.
Source, full setup docs, and the tool list: github.com/HoneyBearTech/plex-director-mcp
The server speaks MCP over stdio, so it's run attached, not detached:
docker run -i --rm --env-file .env honeybeartech/plex-director-mcp:latest
Pass configuration via --env-file or -e — never bake secrets into the image. Required:
RADARR_URL, RADARR_API_KEY
SABNZBD_URL, SABNZBD_API_KEY
TAUTULLI_URL, TAUTULLI_API_KEY
TMDB_API_KEY
PROWLARR_URL, PROWLARR_API_KEY
Optional (enable extra tooling): SONARR_URL/SONARR_API_KEY, QBITTORRENT_URL/QBITTORRENT_USER/QBITTORRENT_PASS, UBUNTU_HOSTS/SSH_USER/SSH_KEY_PATH, DISCORD_WEBHOOK_URL, BACKUP_DIR.
Full variable reference and example .env file: see the GitHub README.
