There are several Hercules builds and at least three aggregations and/or instructions for building MVS 3.8J using those Hercules builds.

• mvs:spinhawk-jay is built using Jay Moseley's instructions and Hercules v3.x.
• mvs:4.0-hyperion-jay is an MVS 3.8J build using Jay Moseley's instructions and Hyperion 4.0 build of Hercules. That requires disabling syncio on every compressed DASD drive.
• mvs:sdl-jay is built using Jay Moseley's instructions and the SDL (v4.3.9999) build of Hyperion Hercules.
• mvs:sdl-tk4- is TK4- distribution (update 8) running on SDL (v4.3.9999) build of Hyperion Hercules.
