MCP server: compress images, PDFs, video, audio, docs & archives via micompress.com
221
MCP server that lets AI agents (Claude, Cursor, VS Code, …) compress images, PDFs, video,
audio, documents and archives through micompress.com.
Registry name: com.micompress/mcp.
Files are read from a directory you mount at /data; the compressed copy is written next to
the original with a -min suffix. Only a short summary goes back to the model, never the file bytes.
claude mcp add micompress -- docker run -i --rm -v "$PWD":/data huuhuybn/micompress-mcp:0.1.2
{
"mcpServers": {
"micompress": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-v", "/path/to/files:/data",
"-e", "MICOMPRESS_API_KEY", "huuhuybn/micompress-mcp:0.1.2"],
"env": { "MICOMPRESS_API_KEY": "mc_your_key_here" }
}
}
}
Without a key the server works anonymously within small size limits (images 20MB, video 50MB). With your personal key from micompress.com/account you get files up to 100MB and a monthly quota:
| Plan | API compressions / month |
|---|---|
| Free account | 50 |
| Plus ($9.99/mo) | 1,000 (shared with the website) |
| Pro ($19.99/mo) | 5,000 (shared with the website) |
Pass it as the MICOMPRESS_API_KEY environment variable. The key never reaches the model.
