⁠RedNote Downloader

RedNote Downloader is a Docker / Unraid friendly self-hosted media downloader for RedNote / Xiaohongshu, X / Twitter, and Douyin single-video links. It provides a web UI, browser preview, local proxy downloads, server-side saving, and optional Telegram delivery.

Since v0.2.23, the image bundles the REST mode of jiji262/douyin-downloader. Douyin single-video resolving and server-side downloading work in one container, without deploying a separate Python downloader.

⁠Highlights

• RedNote / Xiaohongshu: resolve share text, short links, and page URLs.
• X / Twitter: resolve post images and videos.
• Douyin: resolve single-video share text, short links, and douyin.com/video/{aweme_id} URLs; Docker images include the downloader by default.
• Web UI: preview images/videos in the browser and download through the local proxy.
• Server-side saving: media is written to /data/downloads; Douyin defaults to /data/downloads/douyin.
• Telegram: optionally deliver media through a bot.
• Platform-specific cookies: use XHS_COOKIE for Xiaohongshu and DOUYIN_COOKIE for Douyin; pass them at runtime, never bake them into the image.

⁠Key Environment Variables

• DOWNLOAD_DIR: download directory, default /data/downloads
• APP_CONFIG_PATH: app config path, default /data/config/.rednote-config.json
• APP_STATE_PATH: Telegram polling state path, default /data/config/.rednote-state.json
• XHS_COOKIE: optional Cookie header for protected RedNote posts
• DOUYIN_COOKIE: optional Cookie header for protected Douyin single-video resolving or bundled/external Douyin downloads
• DOUYIN_INTERNAL_DOWNLOADER_ENABLED: optional; defaults to true and starts the bundled Douyin downloader
• DOUYIN_INTERNAL_DOWNLOADER_PORT: optional bundled downloader port inside the container, default 8000
• DOUYIN_DOWNLOADER_BASE_URL: optional external Douyin downloader REST URL; bundled mode defaults to http://127.0.0.1:8000
• DOUYIN_DOWNLOADER_OUTPUT_DIR: optional downloader output directory; bundled mode defaults to /data/downloads/douyin
• TELEGRAM_ENABLED: optional; set to false / 0 to disable Telegram polling
• TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN: optional Telegram bot token
• TELEGRAM_ALLOWED_CHAT_IDS: optional chat id allowlist
• TELEGRAM_DELIVERY_MODE: document or preview
• REDNOTE_ADMIN_TOKEN: optional admin token required by protected management endpoints

⁠Notes

• Douyin support is currently single-video only. Gallery posts, profiles, collections, music pages, favorites, live streams, and profile batch downloads are not included.
• "No watermark" means the service prefers no-watermark or low-watermark sources returned by the platform. It does not perform image-level watermark removal.
• No transcoding, recompression, or watermarking is applied.
• Cookies are not baked into the image. Pass them at runtime through the UI or environment. Use XHS_COOKIE for Xiaohongshu and DOUYIN_COOKIE for Douyin.
• On Unraid, set DOUYIN_COOKIE in the Docker template for persistent Douyin authentication. Downloaded Douyin files are saved under /data/downloads/douyin, which maps to your configured appdata path.
• A Telegram bot token can only be long-polled by one running instance at a time.
