ifirestone/minio repository overview

minio

Multi-arch mirror of cgr.dev/chainguard/minio: MinIO built from source, with pinned version tags.

MinIO no longer publishes images to Docker Hub or quay.io, and Chainguard's free tier only offers latest. This repo copies that image unchanged and tags each release so you can pin it.

# minio

Multi-arch mirror of [`cgr.dev/chainguard/minio`](https://images.chainguard.dev/directory/image/minio/overview): MinIO built from source, with pinned version tags.

MinIO no longer publishes images to Docker Hub or quay.io, and Chainguard's free tier only offers `latest`. This repo copies that image unchanged and tags each release so you can pin it.

## Tags

| Tag | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| `RELEASE.2026-09-22T19-25-18Z` | Pinned version (recommended) |
| `latest` | Most recently mirrored version |

Platforms: `linux/amd64`, `linux/arm64`.

## What's inside

- `minio`: the server (entrypoint)
- `mc`: MinIO Client
- `/bin/sh`: so the same image can run setup scripts

## Usage

```bash
docker run -d --name minio \
  -p 9000:9000 -p 9001:9001 \
  -e MINIO_ROOT_USER=admin \
  -e MINIO_ROOT_PASSWORD=change-me \
  -v minio-data:/data \
  ifirestone/minio:RELEASE.2026-09-22T19-25-18Z \
  server /data --console-address=:9001
Run mc from the same image:
docker run --rm --entrypoint /bin/sh ifirestone/minio:RELEASE.2026-09-22T19-25-18Z \
  -c 'mc alias set local http://host.docker.internal:9000 admin change-me && mc ls local'
The entrypoint is /usr/bin/minio, so pass the arguments directly (server /data ...). This differs from the official image, which used a wrapper script.
